Issue 1: Spring 2023

MYSTERY

“The mystery of God is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

Our inaugural issue is a celebration of Christ, the mystery of God. At The Bibfeldt Revue, we want to encourage Christians to explore the depths of the Christian tradition and generate fresh insights for life today. As such, TBR’s inaugural issue is dedicated to Mystery. We want to understand mystery in its broadest terms, and how those might related to all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ. From Agatha Christie to St. Augustine; Simone Weil to Steven Spielberg; Umberto Eco to Ross MacDonald. We want to hear what mystery means to you and what it could mean for the Church.

Submissions Due: February 20, 2023

Issue 2: Fall 2023

POWER

“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

On Good Friday, we see power politicians crucify Christ. But on Easter, we see the power of God raise Christ to new life. What are Christians to make of power? When belief meets bureaucracy, salvation meets sovereigns, and the Lord of Heaven and Earth meets the oligarchs and princes of our present age, what are Christians supposed to do? We’re looking for analyses of the use of power in the Scriptures, a thoughtful engagement with elite theory, or an exploration of what the Two Kingdoms mean in the 21st century. Tell us how Christians should understand power. From local politics and the family, to the soul of the nation and the soul of the Christian. Where does power fit in the Christian’s life?

Submissions Due: August 18, 2023
